Mejorando la salud con Wii
Ingenieros de la Universidad de Alabama están desarrollando un software que enseña primeros auxilios usando los mandos de Wii, la popular consola de videojuegos de Nintendo. El programa, que se podrá descargar gratuitamente y reproducirse en cualquier ordenador personal, ha sido financiado por la Asociación Americana del Corazón, que asegura que es una idea pionera para “llevar la educación en Reanimación Cardiopulmonar (RCP) a las masas”.
La RCP un procedimiento de emergencia para salvar vidas que se utiliza cuando la persona deja de respirar o el corazón ha cesado de palpitar. Según estimaciones recientes, formar en RCP a los ciudadanos podría salvar la vida a la mitad de los fallecidos por infarto.
